Description

I made this photo thinkin in (poser) emos and in their "cutting" (those emo posers didn't cut, they scratched).
I hate (poser) emos.

UPDATE MARCH 2015, READ FIRST!!!.

Concept:

The blade is an earring. It is not pretending to be a real blade. It is not trying to be offensive to people who do self-harm, to depressed people nor to people who listen to emocore music or who like emo dressing style. Years ago, the trend among teens was to be emos, same as previously it was to by "Avril Lavigne kind of punk". There was plenty of teenage kids who didn't do selfharm. They either scratched or even drew on "scars" to show off how "real" emos they were. They were silly teens and they were a negative stereotype for the very own people who called themselves emos without doing it. This pic satirizes trend-following desperate teens who wanted to show off the angst they didn't actually feel. I thought the concept was clearer, but after so many years on the internet, I've realized everything can be misinterpreted. So there, a clarification for y'all. Hope this finally makes you calm down instead of complaining how you are "not like that". That's great.

Update: With this pic I'm making fun of teen emos that make scratches and take pics of that, upload 'em and cry about that they cut themselves. I don't like people that label themselves, it's not about the music or the clothes they wear, they lose my respect when they tell "hey, I´m ...". I didn't pretend real cutters were offended by this, because I know many people that do that, and the last thing they want to do is make pics and upload them so everyone can see it.

Just making things clear. So, "this pic is about teens who call themselves emos and post pics of themselves with their scratches". So take it easier, guys.

Update April 4 2014:
In case people don't read the comment, I feel I gotta point this out. Chill the fuck out, kids. The pic was taken years ago when being emos was trendy and there were lots of kiddos calling themselves emos and posting pics of their scratches. They were not abused, they were not real cutters, they were attention seeking teens. The trend came immediately after the gothy one and the 'punk' Avril Lavigne type. If you don't relate to that stereotype, perfect, then you are not dummy poser atention seekers, good for you. Those people were not even real cutters, they literally made scratches! So calm down, god damn it. It has been 8 fucking years already.

Same way Avril Lavigne fans wannabees were not punks, those kids were posers too. There. I found and still find those poser kiddies ridiculous. Nowadays I don't care much, specially about labeling themselves, it's up to them, though I still find it not smart at all. And it is not only about the clothing. Wanna call yourself emos, goths, hipsters, whatever? Good. I find it silly, but that is my opinion. But it is still not the same as the crybabies posers that made scratches because the wind ruined their hair (I got to see that situation a couple of times, for real). Again, chill out.
